On a routine house call Principal Auctioneer & Valuer Nick Hall sported this rather unassuming portrait tucked away in an outbuilding, after extensive research Nick identified the painting as being by the Russian artist Vasili Vereshchaging (1842-1904) and even traced the picture back to a sale held in New York in 1891... and after international marketing it sold for £15,000!
